Procura Management Inc. Signs Partnership
NJSPT News
New Jersey-Procura Focuses on N.J. Through Mitchell International Partnership: Business [03/20/08]

Procura Management Inc., a provider of medical cost-containment and managed care services to the workers’ compensation and automobile insurance industry, announced Wednesday that it has signed a partnership agreement with Mitchell International Inc.

The agreement was made through Mitchell's Medical division, which provides medical bill review, workflow solutions and decision support tools to the majority of U.S. automotive insurance carriers, Procura said in a press release. The partnership is enhanced by Cypress Care’s pharmacy and ancillary healthcare services offered through Procura’s network, the company said.

Mitchell and Procura will provide automobile property and casualty carriers access to regional and national specialty provider networks that include physician, hospital, medical services, pharmacy and other ancillary healthcare services, the company said. In addition, Mitchell and Procura will develop an integrated end-to-end solution using Mitchell’s Decision Point bill review application, its proprietary Claimant Treatment Guide and Procura’s leading pre-certification program that meets the New Jersey regulatory needs as required by Automobile Insurance Cost Reduction Act (AICRA).

Procura said the partnership will extend its capabilities further into the medical cost containment arena, particularly in New Jersey. The solution results in access to care for policyholders, review of medical expenses through increased utilization of network providers, and increased visibility to claims matching the criteria for medical services, the company said.

Forest Hills workers win suit for $74K back wages

Forest Hills workers win suit for $74K back wages

By Alex Christodoulides

It was payday last week for 22 employees of a Forest Hills physical therapy office who sued their employer for more than two years' worth of unpaid back wages and overtime, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

"This case should serve as a reminder to employers of low-wage workers throughout New York City that the U.S. Labor Department will not hesitate to compel them to meet legal obligations to their employees through litigation when necessary," said Philip Jacobson, director of the Wage and Hour Division's district office in the city.

Physical Therapists: The Ability Specialists
Consumer Information

Physical Therapists: The Ability Specialists

Are you aware of who Physical Therapists (PTs) are, and what they do? Many people think that PTs only care for patients who have had fractures, strokes, or other types of injuries and illnesses. They think that PTs help people get "back on their feet". While this is certainly true, there is much more to Physical Therapy than most people may be aware. Maybe the best way to put it is that we are

"The Ability Specialists".

In other words, we do not really treat the fracture, or the stroke, we treat what those conditions have done to the individual. In fact, we treat people's abilities and disabilities. We help people overcome the effects of some of these conditions, and help people return to useful productive lives. We may help the grandparent return home, the child return to school, the athlete return to the field, or the builder return to work. Physical Therapists do it all!
